Bletherston (Welsh: Trefelen) is a hamlet and parish in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is situated in the middle of the county, 9 km north of Narberth and 13 km east of Haverfordwest. The parish includes the village of Penffordd 51°52′0″N 4°47′39″W / 51.86667, -4.79417. Together with the parishes of Llys y fran and New Moat, it constitutes the community of New Moat.

The English name appears to mean Bleddri's farm: Bleddri is a Welsh name. The Welsh name Trefelen means "yellow farm". The parish is in the north-west portion of the hundred of Dungleddy which George Owen in 1602 placed south of the Pembrokeshire language frontier. However, as part of the church lands to the north of the Afon Syfnwy, Owen said it was bilingual, and in modern times it has been predominantly Welsh-speaking.

The parish had an area of 970 Ha. Its census populations were: 235 (1801): 320 (1851): 235 (1901): 132 (1951): 84 (1981).

The percentage of Welsh speakers was 97 (1891): 85 (1931): 50 (1971).

Bletherston - From 'A Topographical Dictionary of Wales' (1849)
BLETHERSTON, a parish, in the union of Narberth, hundred of Dungleddy, county of Pembroke, South Wales, 7 miles (N. W. by N.) from Narberth; containing 271 inhabitants. This parish is situated in the eastern part of the county, on the left bank of the Eastern Cleddy river. The living is a consolidated vicarage with the living of Lawhaden: the impropriate tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £116. 13. 4., and the vicarial for one of £58. 6. 8. Several silver coins were found here about thirty years ago, but they were immediately sold at Haverfordwest, and melted; so that nothing is known of their date. An estate in the parish, called Langridge, belongs to the Bishop of St. David's.
