Llanrumney (Welsh: Llanrhymni: llan church + Rhymney River) is a district of the city of Cardiff, Wales.

As it lies east of the Rhymney River, it is geographically located in the traditional county of Monmouthshire, whereas most of the city to the west of the river, is in Glamorgan.

The area hosts Llanrumney Hall, believed to have been the home of the pirate Captain Henry Morgan born in 1635. Captain Morgan became the Governor of Jamaica and had a brand of rum named after him. Most of the grounds of Llanrumney Hall were compulsorily purchased by the local authority in the 1950s in order to build a large estate of Council-owned houses.

The estate, which is surrounded by the areas of St Mellons, Trowbridge and many other estates, has several parades of shops, a large leisure centre, a secondary school (Llanrumney High School) and a number of primary schools, including

  • Bryn Hafod Primary School
  • Pen-y-bryn School
  • Glan-yr-afon Primary School
  • St Cadoc's Primary School
  • St Mellons Church in Wales School
