Sara Edwards
Sara Edwards, born 1962, was a co-presenter of BBC Wales' early-evening news programme, BBC Wales Today.

Biography
Edwards was born in Wales and brought up and educated in London, where she studied medieval and modern history.

She started her career with Capital Radio, contributed regular items to BBC Radio Four, and presented for HTV West before joining BBC Wales News. Sara has regularly presented from the Royal Welsh Show and the National Eisteddfod, and has made several series for BBC 2W.

It was announced in August 2007 that she was leaving BBC Wales Today on Friday 31 August 2007 to pursue other projects, and would be replaced by Lucy Owen who transferred from ITV Wales. In a later interview with the Western Mail's Wales on Sunday edition, Edwards told how she felt �effectively sacked� after being replaced by the younger Owen.

Personal life
Edwards is engaged to a British Army officer, Major General Jonathon Riley. The couple's first child, Hannah Elenor Alice, was born on 19 March).

Edwards' hobbies are theatre, music, concerts, cookery - she has a professional cooking diploma from La Petite Cuisine culinary school in London - painting, and the countryside, as her family have a farm in West Wales. She also enjoys golf, tennis, horseracing, and riding.

Sara is a supporter of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme in Wales and has presented Gold Awards on behalf of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at St James' Palace. She is also involved with Cancer Research Wales, the British Heart Foundation, is on the council of the University of Wales, Lampeter, a serving Sister of St. John Ambulance, and was on the board of the Wales Youth Agency.
