South Wales Police RFC is a Welsh rugby union team based in Bridgend, South Wales. South Wales Police RFC plays in the Welsh Rugby Union, Division Five South Central League. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Ospreys.

The South Wales Police side came into being in the June of 1969 following the amalgamation of the forces of Cardiff City, Glamorgan County, Merthyr Borough and Swansea Borough.  The four former forces each had their own rugby teams which played against other police forces and mid week charity matches in their own areas.

In June 1971 the club was elected to the membership of the Welsh Rugby Union.  Under these rules playing for more than one club was not allowed and as a result players were given the choice to either return to their civilian clubs or remain with the police.
