News from Abergavenny policing team

Good Results
On Friday 18th February, a property on Hereford Road was broken into. The offender broke in through an unlocked conservatory door. Jewellery, car keys and cash were taken from the property. Local officers searched the local area and arrested a man in a nearby garden. The stolen property was also found and returned to the victim.

The male, aged 34 from the Abergavenny area was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The same night, a silver Renault Megane was stolen from an address in Woodland Crescent. Following enquiries, officers later arrested 4 men from the Abergavenny area.

Thefts from vehicles – please be vigilant…
They have received reports of a number of vehicles being broken into this week.

On Friday 18th February, a car parked on a driveway in Meadow Lane was broken into and a camera and Sat Nav were stolen.

On the same night, a handbag was stolen from a car parked on driveway in Maes-Y-Gwartha Road.  The window was smashed by the thieves.

A day later, the window of a car parked in a pub car park in Abergavenny was smashed and a laptop bag was stolen.

Please always make sure you hide any belongings from sight. Thieves will break into a car for anything that looks valuable, often causing damage to your car in the process. Even if you are only leaving your car for a short while, always hide your valuables!
